The first rounds of golf were played at Heritage Oaks on September 29, 2001. Our PGA Pro and Superintendent have shaped the course since the very beginning, and you will see their influence and dedication throughout the course and clubhouse.
Heritage Oaks strives to be a good neighbor to the residents of Harrisonburg and one way we demonstrate this is by being one of only two courses in Virginia certified as Virginia Green. This means we use green practices to maintain the course and conserve resources.
Going hand in hand with our Virginia Green efforts are our ecological endeavors. Heritage Oaks is home to more than 85 species of birds including the Logger Head Shrike who is partial to the Locust trees. Most recently a Black Hooded Heron has called our pond on #8 home. What do we do to encourage this many species of birds to call Heritage Oaks home? Why, bird houses all around the course. There are nearly 100 bird houses, how many can you spot during your round?
Heritage Oaks also offers a full-service restaurant, Triple B Cafe. “You don’t need to be a golfer to enjoy Triple B!” Come out and try Triple B Cafe, you’ll be back for more.
